Globalization has brought great opportunities, creating favorable conditions for all countries in the world to promote and successfully implement the socio-economic growth goals set out. On the other side, globalization also poses many challenges in protecting and preserving the natural living environment. Industrialization and modernization have been extensively promoted, leading to a severe decline in the function of environmental components in cities around the world, including Vietnam. A number of countries has taken systematic regulatory actions against air pollution. In this normative juridical research, secondary data that included relevant law and regulations related to air pollution and suitable developments were analyzed. Recommendations were drawn based on the results of this research to enhance the legal and regulatory framework on air pollution control. These include improvements in the law regarding control and management, the establishment of technical regulations for air pollution control, defining the responsibilities of relevant agencies, and enforcing sanctions for acts of pollution. The proposed modifications aim to prevent and minimize obstacles hindering the achievement of sustainable development goals.
